Job summary

Boingo Wireless, Inc. seeks a Systems SRE Datacenter Engineer to maintain production, staging, QA, beta, and dev environments. You will support HPE PCBE management platforms, keep VME/VMware workloads healthy, and run automated workflows on Ubuntu Linux to reduce toil.

This hybrid role requires hands-on datacenter experience, scripting skills, and a strong Linux/VMware background to ensure reliability across global environments.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in systems administration, datacenter engineering, or SRE.
• Proficient with Ubuntu, RHEL 7+ and Linux CLI; networking basics.
• Direct experience with physical datacenter work and cabling.
• Hands-on with PCBE or HPE GreenLake and VMware workloads.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware rack-and-stack, cabling, and component swaps in datacenters.
• Maintain Ubuntu/Linux servers, VMware hosts, and HPE VME hypervisors.
• Monitor through Grafana/Prometheus; respond to alerts and outages.
• Automate tasks with Python/Bash, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Collaborate with engineers, Network teams, and QA on releases.
