Job summary

Boingo Wireless is seeking a Systems SRE Datacenter Engineer to maintain and scale production, staging, QA, Beta, and Dev environments across global datacenters. You will bridge physical datacenter operations with cloud-native systems administration, supporting HPE PCBE management and VMware workloads.

Responsibilities include rack-and-stack, monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana, automation via Ansible/Terraform, and on-call incident response.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in systems administration, datacenter engineering, or SRE.
• Ubuntu OS, RHEL 7+ and Linux fundamentals; CLI, systemd, permissions, packaging.
• Direct experience in physical datacenter hardware maintenance and cabling.

Responsibilities

• Execute rack-and-stack installations, cabling, and component replacements in datacenters.
• Perform patching, updates, and configs across Ubuntu servers, VMware hosts, and HPE VME.
• Monitor health with Grafana/Prometheus; respond to alerts and perform initial root-cause analysis.
• Automate daily tasks with Python, Bash, Ansible, and Terraform to reduce toil.
• Document workflows, maintain inventories, and support cross-functional deployments.
