Job summary

Ztek Consulting, Inc. in Reno, NV seeks a Lead Data Center Operations professional to steer daily technical activities and project builds, supervise technicians, and coordinate with client management to meet approved standards.

You will act as the primary liaison between technician teams and stakeholders, review build documentation, manage workload, provide advanced troubleshooting, and mentor staff to elevate operational capability and ensure successful project handovers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data center operations or infrastructure hardware support.
• Proven experience as a technical lead with team supervision and workload coordination.
• Advanced troubleshooting across server hardware, connectivity, and data center deployment activities.
• Ability to review build documentation, guide technical teams, and communicate with management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between the technician team, service provider management, and client stakeholders.
• Prioritize work, assign tasks, and manage team workload across operational support and project builds.
• Review build documentation before project execution and resolve questions, gaps, and dependencies with relevant teams.
• Direct data center build activities and verify adherence to approved designs, procedures, and site standards.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for L1 and L2 technicians and provide advanced troubleshooting and ticket resolution.
• Coordinate with network, infrastructure, and other support teams on project execution and escalations.
• Define training paths aligned with operational standards and coach technicians to improve technical capability.
• Provide technical leadership and people supervision, including guidance on task execution and work quality.
• Track progress, communicate risks and blockers, and confirm completion and handover of assigned activities.
