Job summary

AMD is seeking a Product Development Engineer for its Datacenter Platform Engineering Group in New Jersey. You will drive development and manufacturing launches of datacenter server and rack systems, coordinating with cross‑functional teams to meet design, quality, and schedule targets.

The role emphasizes detail orientation, quality focus, and the ability to lead complex technical projects from design through production.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
Master's degree in a relevant engineering field preferred.
Minimum 1 year of relevant hardware product development experience.

Responsibilities

Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with Engineering Design, Materials, Rack/Server Systems PM to align design, materials planning, manufacturing, and quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Design & DFM Reviews: Review design specs and CAD docs; lead DFM reviews for manufacturability and quality.
Project Scheduling & Readiness: Develop and maintain project schedules and readiness timelines for on‑time introductions.
New Product Introduction Leadership: Facilitate cross‑functional problem‑solving meetings to drive launches and ramp‑up.
Technical Design Reviews: Lead development reviews, provide guidance for feasibility and manufacturability.
Prototype & First Article Oversight: Oversee FAIs, analyze results, and implement design/manufacturing improvements.
Production Support & Change Management: Coordinate rework and ECOs during transition to volume production.
Assembly Process Validation: Validate manufacturing instructions to ensure clear, accurate procedures.
Quality & Delivery Assurance: Ensure final products meet specs and are delivered on schedule.
