Job summary

RIVA Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Database Engineer for an onsite role at the Department of Commerce in Washington, DC. The position requires designing and maintaining Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and Cosmos DB, with emphasis on security, performance, and disaster recovery.

Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required, along with 4+ years of database engineering experience and familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling.

Program Overview

Supports the NTIA ISCOM program by engineering secure Azure and hybrid database solutions supporting mission-critical Federal systems.

Position Overview

Designs, implements, secures, optimizes, and supports Azure SQL, Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, and hybrid database environments while collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years database engineering experience.
• Expertise with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, T‑SQL, PowerShell, Azure CLI.
• Experience with Azure PaaS/IaaS, performance tuning, backup, security, and DevOps.
• U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure Database Administrator certification.
• Department of Commerce or NTIA experience.
• Hybrid or multi‑cloud database experience.

Salary

$145,000
