Job summary

The Database Development role at Themesoft Inc. involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust Oracle PL/SQL packages and PostgreSQL objects, plus tuning queries and optimizing performance across Oracle and PostgreSQL.

You will migrate Oracle PL/SQL code to PostgreSQL, build RESTful APIs for integration, and develop ETL processes and data pipelines while collaborating with DevOps, QA, and application teams to ensure secure, scalable database solutions.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL development, PL/pgSQL, design, and query optimization.
• Strong Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c) and PL/SQL programming skills.
• Ability to write complex SQL, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and views.
• Familiarity with data modeling, normalization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience reading Oracle Explain Plan and PostgreSQL Explain Analyze for performance.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and data exchange in JSON/XML formats.
• ETL development and data migration activities; shell scripting for automation.
• Version control with Git; Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views; PostgreSQL objects.
• Migrate Oracle PL/SQL code to PostgreSQL while preserving functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot slow SQL, optimize execution plans, indexing, and partitioning.
• Design, develop, and support RESTful APIs for database services integration.
• Build and support ETL processes and data pipelines across systems.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, architects, and business analysts.
• Create technical docs, deployment scripts, SOPs, and release procedures.
