Job summary

Peraton is seeking a hands-on Senior Database Engineer to design, implement, and sustain mission-critical database systems including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle. The role emphasizes performance tuning, PL/pgSQL/PL/SQL development, and security in high‑assurance environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s/PhD with substantial relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Security+ or equivalent IAT II/III certification.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and optimizing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle databases.
• Performing database tuning, performance analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Supporting database migrations and modernization initiatives.
• Ensuring security hardening, audits, and compliance in secure environments.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams in an Agile setting and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
