  • Act as the agency’s technical expert, providing guidance to senior leadership on IT matters and supporting the development of new capabilities.

Summary

IT Specialist positions (GS‑14, Information Technology Management series 2210) are being filled through OPM's delegated Direct Hire Authority. The role requires U.S. citizenship, Selective Service registration if applicable, and a background check. Candidates must meet the qualification standards for the 2210 series and the GS‑14 grade.

Location & Pay

Open positions are available in the following locations:

  • Denver, CO – $140,239 to $182,316 per year
  • Durham, NC – $131,342 to $170,750 per year
  • Woodlawn, MD / Urbana, MD – $143,913 to $187,093 per year
  • Wilkes Barre, PA – $125,776 to $163,514 per year

Telework is eligible; the employee is required on‑site 75 % of duty time. Salary is within the GS‑14 range, $107,446 to $139,684 per year.

Job Summary & Conditions of Employment

The position reports to the Service Innovation and Modernization (SIM) Manager and involves managing the agency’s computer systems and enterprise IT infrastructure.

Conditions of Employment:

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Selective Service registration (if applicable).
  • Fingerprinting, background, and/or security investigation required.
  • Probationary period of 1 year.
  • Relocation expenses will not be paid.
  • Security clearance not required for this position.

Experience

Specialized experience at the GS‑13 level or equivalent, in support of modern enterprise databases and the development of database infrastructure strategies that support modern development principles.
