The role focuses on design, development, and optimization of schemas across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS platforms while aligning with AST security standards. You will perform performance tuning, documentation, and mentoring for staff.

Qualifications

• Twelve years of combined experience in database administration for DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Strong knowledge of performance management, design, and data architecture across platforms.
• Ability to work onsite in Tallahassee, starting day 1.

Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Database Administrator C. Advanced for our client located in Tallahassee, FL.

This position is onsite in Tallahassee, FL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.

Job Overview:

The DBA team is responsible for ensuring the application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet the department standards for data requirements. The candidate in this position will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, amendments and optimization of the schema to meet system(s) requirements. The candidate must be able to understand and demonstrate the ability to develop database and warehousing design across multiple platforms and computing environments. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team to assist in developing an overall data architecture that supports the Department’s needs and meets Department and Agency for State Technology (AST) security standards.

This resource will primarily be tasked with performing Database (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, GIS) planning and operational activities including, but not limited to the following:

• Daily operational and database administration activities
• Plan, design, implement, support for database structures
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
• Perform SQL Code reviews
• Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested.

Required Qualifications:

The candidatemust haveskill and 12 years of combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms:

• DB2 for z/OS
• SQL Server 2008R2, 2012
• Oracle 10g and above

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the FDOT integrated database infrastructure is a plus.
• Knowledge of the FDOT Financial Management applications is a plus.
• Knowledge of the FDOT integrated application environment is a plus

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
