Responsibilities include DB2 for z/OS administration, performance tuning, upgrades, recovery, and infrastructure support. Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, COBOL, ISPF, CICS, RACF, and related tools is necessary. FDOT environment experience preferred.

• Perform daily database administration and operational support for DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS databases.
• Plan, design, implement, and maintain database structures.
• Monitor database performance and perform tuning and optimization.
• Manage DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, and point-in-time recovery.
• Conduct SQL code reviews and maintain technical documentation.
• Support disaster recovery planning, infrastructure changes, and verification testing.
• Assist with technical staff training and mentoring.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Database Administrator with strong expertise in DB2 for z/OS, mainframe technologies, and enterprise database administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database operations, performance tuning, upgrades, recovery, and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily database administration and operational support for DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS databases.
• Plan, design, implement, and maintain database structures.
• Monitor database performance and perform tuning and optimization.
• Manage DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, and point-in-time recovery.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in DB2 for z/OS administration, performance management, and application integration.
• Experience with SQL Server 2008 R2/2012 and Oracle 10g or later.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, COBOL, ISPF, CICS, and RACF.
• Experience with CA Gen, ASG Scheduler, and database/system monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of started tasks, AFOPER commands, IOF, and z/OS exits.
• Familiarity with SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, Windows Server, and Azure.
• Understanding of disaster recovery and infrastructure change management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FDOT’s integrated database infrastructure.
• Knowledge of FDOT Financial Management applications and integrated application environments.
