Job summary

Radiant Digital seeks an experienced Database Administrator to support DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle across multiple platforms. You will monitor performance, tune configurations, and help define data architectures to meet security standards.

Responsibilities include daily DB operations, documenting procedures, reviewing SQL, and mentoring junior staff. Strong knowledge of z/OS, CICS, RACF, and DR planning is essential.

Qualifications

• 15 years combined experience in database administration.
• Expertise with DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Proven ability to design, optimize and secure database schemas across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily operational DB administration and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain DBA procedures and documentation.
• Perform SQL code reviews and support training for staff.
• Assist with infrastructure activities and disaster recovery planning.

Job description

The DBA team is responsible for ensuring the application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet the department standards for data requirements. The candidate in this position will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, amendments and optimization of the schema to meet system(s) requirements. The candidate must be able to understand and demonstrate the ability to develop database and warehousing design across multiple platforms and computing environments. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team to assist in developing an overall data architecture that supports the Department’s needs and meets Department and Agency for State Technology (AST) security standards.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

The candidate must have skill and 15 years combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms:

• SQL Server 2008R2, 2012
• Oracle 10g and above

Primary Job Duties/Tasks

This resource will primarily be tasked with performing Database (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, GIS) planning and operational activities including, but not limited to the following:

• Daily operational and database administration activities
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
• Perform SQL Code reviews
• Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested
