Job Description

We are seeking a Database Administrator for a part-time long-term contract position that is fully remote. The role involves providing primary support for database architecture and administration, evaluating and recommending improvements to the database environment, overseeing database conversions, and reorganizing databases.

What You'll Do

1. Utilize knowledge and experience with DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and HANA.
2. Provide primary database architectural and administrative support, including data modeling, attribution, referential integrity, and database security.
3. Analyze monitoring efforts to evaluate and recommend changes to optimize the database environment.
4. Oversee physical database design, including file characteristics, backup and recovery, security, and space requirements.
5. Recommend additional software solutions based on system analysis and DBMS requirements.
6. Supervise installation and testing of DBMS software; create and manage database objects such as schemas, views, tables, stored procedures, triggers, and indexing strategies.
7. Ensure database auditability to maintain data integrity, detect missing data, and facilitate timely error correction.
8. Manage database conversions, including structure and data migration.
9. Perform backup and recovery operations and reorganize databases as needed.
10. Conduct performance monitoring and tuning.

What You'll Need

Required:

• 10+ years of SAP DB2 experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.

Desired:

• SAP HANA experience.

Physical Demands
