The Virginia Department of Elections is seeking an Azure Business Intelligence Developer with 3-5 years of experience to work with an existing software development team on an ongoing project.

Complete Description:

This position operates within an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating with an analytics team to design, develop, test, and support solutions that facilitate data-driven decision-making across the agency. The candidate will lead and contribute to the design and implementation of scalable data warehouse and business intelligence systems, applying data architecture, integration, and analytics principles. Experience with cloud-native data warehousing, ETL development, and enterprise data management is required.

Skills:

• At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data warehouse and BI solutions.
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with cloud data platforms like Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric.
• SQL development skills, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, views, and performance optimization.
• Experience building star schema data models, including fact and dimension tables.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools, especially Power BI Service.
• Understanding of data governance, quality, and lineage principles.
