Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking an Acquisitions Librarian to join the client Research Library’s Data & Subscriptions Team in Washington, DC.

You will support data and subscription procurements, engage with end users, and coordinate across licensing, procurement, and onboarding processes. The role requires handling licenses, terms interpretation, and collaboration with researchers and vendors to ensure access to economic and business data resources.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program.
• 2–3 years of professional acquisitions/serials experience.
• Experience with acquiring data services, online resources, or licenses.
• Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate researchers' data needs and connect them to licensed data and resources.
• Interview researchers to gather specs for data and subscription licenses.
• Conduct market research to identify sources matching researchers' specs.
• Coordinate acquisition through license negotiations, procurement, and onboarding steps.
• Answer questions from data managers and researchers about licenses and terms.
