Job summary

Ampcus Inc in Washington, DC is seeking an Acquisition Librarian to join our Board Research Library’s Data & Subscriptions Team. You will coordinate the licensing and procurement of data and subscription services used by economists and researchers, and serve as a liaison to vendors and internal stakeholders.

You will evaluate research needs, gather specifications, conduct market research, and guide license negotiations through procurement, legal, and onboarding processes, ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLIS or equivalent experience.
• Experience with electronic resources and licenses.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate researchers' data needs and connect them to licensed resources.
• Interview researchers to gather specifications for data licenses.
• Conduct market research to match licenses to needs.
• Coordinate the acquisition process through negotiation, procurement, and onboarding.
• Answer questions from data managers about licensed data and subscriptions.
• Advise on copyright and data usage restrictions in licenses.
• Support library colleagues in data governance and emerging technologies.
• Provide budget updates and usage metrics to library leadership.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to resolve data issues.
• Contribute to library projects improving processes and outreach.
