Leidos is looking to fill a Storage Engineer position to support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). This role requires technical expertise in storage engineering, system administration, and operations. The primary responsibilities include optimizing enterprise storage infrastructure, participating in lifecycle management of storage devices across on-premise and cloud environments, collecting and analyzing metrics, identifying risks, and developing system documentation. The role operates within an Agile framework at the Bethesda location on the Intelligence Community Campus.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Install, configure, and administer enterprise storage systems from multiple vendors including Dell EMC and Quantum.
  2. Manage Rubrik server and client software, monitor backup policies, and generate reports.
  3. Administer Cisco Brocade fibre channel switch fabrics, configure zones, and monitor performance.
  4. Create and secure SMB file shares and manage NFS exports.
  5. Develop and implement Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations plans.
  6. Support storage operations on Linux and Windows servers.
  7. Build dashboards for capacity management and infrastructure planning.
  8. Configure Rubrik policies, troubleshoot backup failures.
  9. Coordinate SAN provisioning with vCenter administrators.
  10. Manage volume snapshots, point-in-time restores, and replication for disaster recovery.
  11. Monitor system health, work with vendors on hardware/software failures.
  12. Schedule and execute hardware and system updates during maintenance windows.
  13. Evaluate system performance and capacity trends.
  14. Resolve advanced service requests, identify automation opportunities, and support cloud storage solutions.
  15. Mentor junior team members and work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications
  1. Extensive experience managing Veritas Rubrik.
  2. Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
  3. Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
  4. Understanding of Distributed File System (DFS).
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Ability to mentor and support a 24/7 environment.
  7. Supporting certifications such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP, meeting DoD 8570.11-IAT Level II requirements.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  1. Managing enterprise storage systems like Dell Storage Center, Data Domain.
  2. Experience with SAN/NAS administration, VMWare integration, data migration, snapshots, and cloud storage management.
Education

Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 10 years, or equivalent experience for lesser degrees.

Security Clearance

US Citizenship required. TS/SCI with Polygraph or willingness to obtain Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with Disaster Recovery, COOP, and cloud migrations.
  2. Managing DFS namespaces.
