Job summary

Second Mile Education is seeking a Data Specialist to manage the Districts Management Information System (MIS) and related data, reports, and components such as FTE, funding, Master Schedule, student schedules, grades and credits.

You will collaborate with school and district staff to ensure data accuracy, timely reports, and proper funding; maintain records with the Principal; assist with withdrawals/transfers; and help meet enrollment and attendance goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Computer literate.
• Bilingual in local area languages is a plus.
• Previous experience in school registration office and working with at-risk youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain data in the SIS and MIS at all times.
• Effectively collaborate with School District staff to ensure all school data are accurate, and reports are generated and received on-time.
• Work directly with Principal to ensure that all school records are accurate, and work with school staff or School District staff to resolve any differences.
• Accurately report all student information so the school receives the appropriate amount of funding and support.
• Maintain a professional relationship with staff, students, their parents, and school district personnel in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Follow up on requests for student withdrawals/ transfer while providing all information needed according to required school documents.
• Assist in all initiatives to ensure school meets defined FTE enrollment and attendance goals.
• Evaluation Criteria
• Effectively perform all other duties as assigned and necessary in order for the school and company to achieve its enrollment and attendance goals.
