Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a senior data scientist for the Mail team to embed with product and shape feature strategy through rigorous experimentation and metrics.

You will own key Mail success metrics, design experiments across onboarding and lifecycle, and define quality frameworks for AI features like Auto Drafts, Auto Labels, and calendar workflows. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive growth and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data science experience with measurable impact
• Expertise in experimentation and causal inference; fluent in A/B testing and related methods
• Fluent in Python and SQL with strong data exploration and manipulation
• Strong applied statistics and machine learning skills to inform product decisions
• Ability to translate ambiguous questions into sound experimental designs and metrics
• Influences cross-functional partners and communicates insights clearly
• Self-starting, creative problem-solver who thrives with ambiguity
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Be the embedded data science partner for the Mail core product team, shaping feature strategy and roadmap decisions.
• Define and own Mail metrics: activation milestones, engagement depth, retention curves, leading indicators.
• Design and run experiments across the Mail lifecycle and build measurement frameworks.
• Shape measurement strategy for Mail's AI features and define quality metrics.
• Identify what makes Mail sticky and what activates power users.
• Quantify levers for product-led and sales-led growth and surface signals for expansion.
• Turn behavioral insights into smarter onboarding and engagement nudges.
• Communicate findings to PMs, designers, and executives to raise decision quality.
