Job summary

ButcherBox is seeking a Data Scientist I to uncover insights from marketing, operations, and financial data. You will perform statistical analyses, build predictive analytics, and develop AI/ML systems integrated with our eCommerce platform and internal tools.

The role focuses on demand forecasting and personalized recommendations, collaborating with product, marketing, and operations to measure model impact and drive smarter decisions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven experience solving business problems using SQL and coding.
• coursework/coursework in statistical analysis incl. linear models, multivariate analysis, hypothesis testing, and time series.
• Hands-on experience with the model development process, from feature selection to evaluation.
• Ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with large datasets in a cloud environment; Azure is used.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand objectives and frame data-driven problems.
• Perform analysis using Python, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
• Contribute to all aspects of a ML solution from problem framing to production deployment and impact measurement.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists to develop models solving business problems and own components.
• Assist with support and maintenance for existing models in production.
