Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team supporting a Federal customer on a Modernized Data Science Platform. The role bridges business needs and technical solutions, focusing on requirements analysis and data-driven decision making.

Key duties include designing solutions with Databricks, building data models from ERP data, and promoting code to production. Candidates should have DoD clearance, a CS degree, and 6 years of experience with Python and PySpark.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6 years of related work experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Hands-on development experience with Python and PySpark.
• Experience with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab.
• Army functional knowledge and requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks to meet business requirements.
• Analyze and design modifications to existing data models.
• Promote code into production.
• Define test cases and verify results.
• Build data models and reports from ERP and legacy data.
