Job summary

SMX seeks a Data Scientist to join our team supporting a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. This role bridges business needs with technical solutions, emphasizing requirements analysis, process improvement, and data-driven decision making to support IT transformation.

The candidate will design using Databricks, analyze data models, promote code to production, and build models and reports from ERP data sources.

Qualifications

• Security clearance: U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 6 years of related work experience
• Experience with Python and PySpark

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks to deliver capabilities meeting business functional requirements.
• Analyze & Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
• Promote code into production.
• Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions are functioning as designed.
• Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.
