Metrics LLC is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist (Biomedical Modeling & Analytics) to support a contract with the Institutes of Health (NIH). This role involves developing advanced analytics and computational models for biomedical research, enabling data-driven decisions and translational science initiatives. The position requires on-site presence at the client location for close collaboration with researchers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement data science and statistical modeling pipelines for large biomedical and clinical datasets.
2. Integrate multi-modal data (molecular, clinical, omics) to support translational research.
3. Apply machine learning, AI, and computational modeling to biomedical challenges.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements and deliver analytics solutions.
5. Create data visualizations, interpret results, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
6. Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
7. Maintain reproducible code, workflows, and documentation for research and compliance.
8. Contribute to reports, publications, and presentations.
9. Maintain and enhance scientific computing and analytics platforms.
10. Research and adopt emerging data science tools and methods.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
2. Experience applying data science techniques to large-scale biomedical or clinical data.
3. Proficiency in programming tools like Python, R, or similar.
4. Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
2. Experience with multi-omic, clinical, or biological datasets in research or healthcare.
3. Familiarity with cloud analytics platforms and secure data handling.
4. Knowledge of federal data standards and security requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FISMA).
