Data Scientist

Location: McLean VA

Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for overall data science and data characterization technologies and will report to the on-site program manager.
2. Assess technology development and evaluate its operational usefulness and eventually demonstrate the technology capability through test and evaluation.
3. Results must be documented in writing and communicated both verbally and through multimedia methods to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Defense intelligence all-source analysis, operations research/systems engineering, analysis of intelligence community databases and tools, non-Defense intelligence analysis, structured analytic techniques, and text exploitation and analytics.
• Expertise in advanced tools such as R software (with modules for statistics, modeling, visualization), Text Analytics (IN-SPIRE, Jigsaw, Net Owl, Gate), and Mathematical Modeling (MATLAB).
• Proficiency with day-to-day data analysis tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and document development tools like Word and MS Publisher.
• Understanding and experience with visual and geospatial analysis tools such as OpenGeo, ArcGIS, GeoTime, Clavin, Vortek (Starlight), Gephi, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• 5-10 years of experience or an advanced degree (MS/Ph.D.).
• At least three years of experience in the intelligence community.
• TS/SCI with FSP clearance.
