Job summary

LMI Consulting, LLC seeks a Dataverse / Data Science Lead to join the CBP PMO. The role combines hands-on analytics with leadership, mentoring, and governance to drive data-driven decision making. Requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain CBP BI; 20% travel, including remote/rugged areas.

The candidate will lead complex analyses, design Dataverse data models, and mentor analysts while communicating findings to technical and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in applied data science, analytics or related roles with federal/mission-driven context.
• Hands-on Python and SQL to develop, test, and troubleshoot analytics workflows.
• Experience designing data models, data pipelines, and reporting-ready datasets.
• Experience with advanced analytics methods including ML, time-series, NLP, or causal inference.
• Ability to communicate methods, results, uncertainty, and limitations clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical strategy for complex operational and programmatic questions.
• Serve as SME for Dataverse data structures and integration with reporting and ML solutions.
• Assess data readiness, quality, lineage, and access considerations.
• Design and maintain reporting-ready Dataverse data models and pipelines.
• Develop and evaluate statistical models and ML solutions; perform hands-on analysis using Python and SQL.
