Qualifications

• Graduate student in a quantitative/analytical degree with Dec 2027 or May 2028 graduation.
• Undergraduate student in a quantitative/analytical degree with Dec 2027 or May 2028 graduation.
• Interest in data, statistics, or model validation.
• Experience manipulating raw data using SQL, Python, or R.
• Creative problem-solving and machine learning interest.
• Ability to analyze data or model results and communicate insights.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and present information clearly.
• Passion for learning concepts and continuous development.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Internship Summary

We are actively hiring a Data Science Intern! This summer, we are seeking a motivated individual interested in beginning a career in Data Science and supporting our Research and Model Validation teams. As an intern, you will work with our data science teams on innovation projects focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning.

CSAA Internship Program

Internship Details

The anticipated dates of our 2027 summer internship will be May 24-August 6. This role can be remote or hybrid based out of our Phoenix, AZ office. The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $35.00-$39.00.

Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborating with our data science teams and business leaders to pursue research in areas of high business impact.
• Advancing CSAA’s understanding of our customers through research projects spanning the data science lifecycle.
• Providing recommendations based on well-documented, reproducible analyses.
• Completing a capstone project related to data or model analysis in the insurance industry and presenting findings to senior management.

Ideal Qualifications

• Graduate student pursuing a quantitative or analytically focused degree, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Undergraduate student pursuing a quantitative or analytically focused degree, who had prior CSAA internship experience with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Interest in beginning a career focused on data, statistical analysis, or model validation.
• Experience manipulating raw data using SQL, Python, or R.
• Creative problem‑solving skills and a strong interest in machine learning.
• Ability to analyze data or model results, identify meaningful findings and limitations, and communicate meaningful statistical insights.
• Self‑motivated and results‑oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and present information clearly to others.
• Passion for learning new concepts and a commitment to continuous development.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
