Base pay range

$175,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr

Position Overview:

A consulting partner we work with are looking for a dedicated Data Sales Engineer to join their expanding team. In this role, you will be instrumental in connecting technical solutions with business outcomes, assisting clients in navigating the modern data landscape to achieve their objectives.

Technical Expertise:

  • Serve as the primary technical resource during the sales process, possessing in-depth knowledge of dbt, Snowflake, or Databricks, as well as the broader modern data landscape.
  • Collaborate with sales and data teams to ensure a seamless technical transition following a closed deal.
  • Convert technical features into tangible business benefits for effective client communication.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in data technologies and solutions, particularly within the modern data ecosystem.

Client Engagement and Relationship Building:

  • Rapidly establish rapport with clients, acting as a trusted advisor to understand their data challenges and propose tailored solutions.
  • Lead technical discussions and product demonstrations to illustrate how our offerings meet client requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services within existing accounts.
  • Assist the sales team by facilitating diagnostics and proposals and developing project roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with clients to determine technical requirements, project scope, and deliverables.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams to enhance our offerings and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience with dbt and either Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Experience in service-oriented companies is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the modern data stack ecosystem, analytics tools, and cloud technologies.
  • A keen interest in staying updated on trends, new releases, and the future of data.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with the sales process and enterprise client landscape.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to meet clients or attend industry events.
