Job summary

King County Department of Public Defense seeks an analytical, service‑oriented Functional Analyst II to organize and analyze data, maintain spreadsheets and databases, prepare professional documents, and respond to special data requests for the Director’s Office.

The successful candidate will use Excel databases, Office 365, and SharePoint, communicate with technical and non‑technical staff, and apply an equity and social justice lens while managing multiple priorities under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience with data spreadsheets and systems in a legal setting.
• Valid Washington Driver’s License or ability to travel across King County.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support interpreting policies, procedures, processes, and data.
• Research and summarize technical information from varied sources using spreadsheets and databases.
• Maintain accurate spreadsheets and data for the Director and Deputy Director.
• Draft and edit documents, forms, and correspondence for professionalism.
• Create training materials, user guides, and process documentation.
• Query, clean, and standardize data from management databases for reporting.
• Assist with ad‑hoc data requests for policy, planning, and budgets under deadlines.
• Support colleagues in building technical proficiency with department data systems.
