  • Assisting with the implementation of all necessary measures and frameworks to manage personal data processing activities in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including developing new processes, creating templates, and assisting with data mapping.
  • Improving Mitel’s data protection policies and procedures, including drafting, reviewing, and updating data protection internal documents and guidelines.
  • Working collaboratively with the other data protection team members on all data protection-specific tasks, including risk management and mitigation, incident management, data protection impact assessments, international data transfers, and data subject rights.
  • Managing the global company awareness and training program.
  • Reviewing the company’s new products, features, and projects and providing guidance and guidelines on the implementation of data protection requirements and applicable industry standards, such as data protection by design and by default.
  • Supporting the maintenance of all relevant internal data protection documentation, such as Mitel’s records of processing activities (ROPA).
  • Helping with data protection audits, inspections, and implementing internal data protection monitoring activities.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, such as IT and legal, to ensure that data protection requirements are understood, implemented, and harmonized globally across the organization.
  • Monitoring changes globally to data protection laws and regulations and making the corresponding recommendations to the DPO.
  • Assisting with the development of new standards and guidelines as well as reviewing, monitoring, and improving Mitel’s internal policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience in developing and implementing new policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of EU data protection laws and regulations and a good understanding of other major relevant frameworks.
  • Curiosity in related fields such as AI, digital ethics, and new technologies.
  • Sufficient knowledge of IT standards and data management systems is required, and a good comprehension of frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST is a plus.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the company.
  • Experience working in a global and international organization is welcomed, including managing different time zones.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, exercise leadership, and influence change.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • A detail-oriented approach is welcomed, as is the capacity to complete tasks with accuracy and confidence.
  • Strong management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines to overtake tasks and long-term projects until completion.
  • Creativity and a problem-solving mindset to find alternative solutions or think outside the box to implement and influence change.
