Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to join the Data Protection team. You will implement and maintain data protection infrastructure, work across on-premises and cloud environments, and partner with senior engineers to advance DLP, DSPM, and encryption initiatives.

The role requires strong experience with DLP tools, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure), scripting in PowerShell and Python, and a solid grasp of HIPAA and related security standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years of experience deploying and maintaining DLP infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years of experience with two programming languages (Python/PowerShell/Java/JavaScript/BASH).
• 3 years of experience with two cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security or related field.
• 5 years of Information Security, Governance, Risk and/or Compliance, Information Technology or Business Analysis with hands-on Engineering principles.
• Master's degree in Information Security or related field.
• Advanced certification in GCP/AWS/Azure.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure components across platforms and vendors, including deploying and configuring DLP, DSPM, and data de-identification solutions.
• Collaborate on the design and implementation of data protection solutions, aligning with business requirements in on-premises and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure and maintain data protection policies across platforms, including sensitive information types and tuning detection parameters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data protection incidents with root cause analysis and remediation.
• Contribute to data protection projects with testing, implementation, and documentation; participate in project meetings for updates.
• PowerShell and Python scripting to automate deployment and maintenance of data protection software.
• Actively collaborate with team members to expand knowledge in data protection technologies.
• Stay current with data protection technologies, industry best practices, and evolving compliance requirements.
