Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain the organization’s data protection infrastructure and applications. The role focuses on DLP/DSPM, policy configuration, and incident response across on‑prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) and experience with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, and Varonis are required. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data protection, information security, and related governance,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5+ years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5+ years of experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5+ years of experience creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3+ years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell).
• 3+ years of experience with architectural support for two major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors, including DLP and DSPM.
• Collaborate on designing data protection solutions for on‑prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure and maintain data protection policies and tuning parameters.
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation.
• Leverage PowerShell and Python to enhance deployment and maintenance workflows.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with team to expand expertise in data protection technologies.
