Job summary

Griffin is seeking a proactive Data Protection Officer to embed privacy by design across our product and operations. You will be the primary data protection adviser in the first line, ensuring DPIAs, TRAs and ongoing data handling meet UK GDPR and internal policies.

You will report to the COO, work with cross-functional teams, and shape governance as the business scales, including new product launches and card issuing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong data protection and privacy knowledge including UK GDPR.
• Experience as Data Protection Officer or equivalent.
• Ability to translate regulation into product requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Advise teams on data protection obligations and DPIAs.
• Monitor and audit compliance with GDPR and policies.
• Train staff and raise awareness of data protection.
• Liaise with ICO and data subjects.
• Shape the DPO role and governance as the business grows.
