Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement, maintain, and support data protection infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. The role focuses on DLP, DSPM, encryption, and policy management, with collaboration across teams to meet strict HIPAA and security standards.

The candidate will work with Microsoft Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, and Varonis, leveraging Windows, Linux, and GKE.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years of experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell).
• 3 years of experience with cloud providers: GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field.
• Master's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field.
• Advanced cloud certifications (GCP/AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors, including DLP/DSPM configurations.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions for on-prem and cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure) environments.
• Configure and manage data protection policies, sensitive information types, and detection parameters.
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents with root-cause analysis and escalation as needed.
• Contribute to projects with testing, deployment, and documentation efforts.
• Use PowerShell and Python to automate deployment and maintenance of data protection software.
• Collaborate within the team to expand knowledge of data protection technologies.
• Stay current with data protection tech, standards, and regulatory requirements.
