Job summary

Snohomish County in Everett, WA is seeking a Data Stewardship & Privacy Supervisor to manage countywide records governance and serve as the IT privacy leader.

You will oversee the Records Center operations, implement privacy controls, lead training, coordinate with departments, and ensure compliance with laws; the role requires strong policy development, collaboration with IT teams, and a focus on data protection across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information management or related field and 4 years in records privacy or related work.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience; ability to lead and train staff.
• Technical training or knowledge of records retention schedules preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee county records center operations, including intake, storage, access, and disposition.
• Lead IT privacy initiatives, data protection, and response to privacy incidents.
• Coordinate with department records contacts and external partners for defensible practices.
• Develop and maintain records management software and training programs.
• Monitor compliance with laws, policies, and retention requirements; manage budget.
• Collaborate with IT teams to address privacy concerns in emerging technologies.
