Job summary

Snohomish County is seeking a Data Records supervisor and IT Privacy Officer to manage day-to-day operations of the county records center and lead strategy for physical records data. The role oversees IT responses to public records requests and guides privacy and protection regulations across departments.

The position directs records management, retention, and training programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws while improving privacy controls across county data lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 4 years of records/privacy experience.
• 1 year of lead or supervisory experience required.
• Must pass background check and have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and integrity of physical record inventory in the records center.
• Coordinate with state archives and review retention schedules.
• Supervise and evaluate subordinate staff and manage budgets.
• Develop and maintain county data privacy programs and policies.
• Oversight of IT responses to public records requests and ensure compliance.
• Provide training and outreach on archival records management and data privacy.
