Syneos Health in North America seeks a Counsel I, Data Privacy to provide practical, business-focused legal advice on data privacy, HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and global privacy developments. You will support regional privacy compliance, draft and negotiate privacy notices and processing agreements, and partner with privacy operations, vendors and business teams.

This role requires a JD/LLM and US law qualification, 6+ years of experience, and the ability to balance risk with business needs.

Qualifications

• JD/LLM/LLB or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Fully qualified lawyer.
• Industry certifications e.g. CIPP/US, CIPT, CIPM, AIGP (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on data privacy and data protection matters.
• Support regional privacy compliance activities, including notifications and filings.
• Draft, review and negotiate privacy notices, DPAs, data sharing agreements and HIPAA BAAs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on privacy contract terms with customers, vendors and third parties.
• Advise on marketing, promotional and outreach activities.
