Job summary

AirLife is seeking a Data Engineering & Platform Manager to own and optimize the enterprise Databricks environment, enforce governance, and build scalable data pipelines. The role reports to senior analytics leadership and partners with AI and business analytics teams to enable trusted data for analytics and AI initiatives.

Qualified candidates have 7–12 years in data engineering, 3+ years on Databricks, and strong ERP integration experience.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of data engineering experience, incl. 3+ years Databricks administration in an enterprise environment.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; Databricks certification preferred.
• ERP integration experience (SAP preferred; Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus).

Responsibilities

• Own and administer the AirLife Databricks environment end-to-end, including governance and performance optimization.
• Supervise staff: mentoring, training, and performance management.
• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines from SAP ECC, Dynamics GP, Salesforce into the Databricks Lakehouse.
• Establish data governance standards across the platform including cataloging, lineage, and data quality monitoring.
• Define and maintain the medallion data architecture (bronze/silver/gold).
• Collaborate with AI leads and analytics managers to meet data needs.
• Monitor pipeline health, performance, and data quality; resolve issues proactively.
• Manage Databricks license governance and Azure billing costs.
• Define data engineering standards and runbooks for scalability.
• Lead data integration reviews and onboarding of new data sources.
• Contribute to data strategy discussions led by VP of Data, Analytics & AI.
