Job summary

OpenTalent is building a robust data platform and seeks a Database Engineer to own the health, performance, and evolution of our enterprise data stack. You will optimize SQL Server environments now and help migrate toward Snowflake, balancing reliability with scalable data models.

The role focuses on database engineering and platform modernization, with some support for reporting. You will work with Data Engineering, Research & Development, and others to secure and scale critical databases.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL Server administration and database engineering experience.
• Ability to design scalable relational schemas and data models.
• Experience with backups, disaster recovery, and high availability.
• Familiarity with data platforms, Snowflake architecture, and cloud modernization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize SQL Server environments for reliability and performance.
• Design and implement scalable data models and stored procedures.
• Develop and manage data loading processes and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Collaborate on the design of a hybrid SQL Server/Snowflake data platform.
