Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking a BIC Data Operations Specialist to support repeatable data execution, reporting, and automation outside core platforms. You will operationalize analytics and assist with AI enablement and cloud readiness while collaborating with senior staff.

In this role you will run reports, manage data pulls, ensure data accuracy, and help maintain runbooks and documentation for firmwide initiatives, with opportunities to grow technical depth over time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly applicable experience in data operations, reporting, analytics, or a business technology support role.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with structured datasets.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with APIs.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain established reports, dashboards, queries, and extracts.
• Execute recurring data pulls for leadership, audits, compliance, and firmwide initiatives.
• Validate output accuracy and reconcile data discrepancies.
• Operate and maintain repeatable scripts, jobs, and API-based processes built by senior staff.
• Execute batch jobs (report runs, data refreshes, operational maintenance tasks).
• Monitor performance, log results, and elevate issues as needed.
• Support data requests related to AI tools, governance initiatives, cloud readiness, and analytics.
• Assist with documentation and reproducibility of data processes.
• Provide operational support during high volume or time-sensitive initiatives.
• Ensure data handling complies with confidentiality, risk, and policy requirements.
• Follow documented procedures and assist in improving operational resilience.
• Maintain organized runbooks, trackers, and execution records.
• Build familiarity with APIs, reporting platforms, data tools, and automation workflows.
• Gain exposure to AI related data preparation and governance concepts.
• Partner closely with senior technical staff to expand technical depth over time.
