Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking a Data Operations Specialist to support reporting, data automation, and analytics initiatives across the firm. Under the supervision of the Director, BIC Operations & Projects, you will operationalize analytics and automation solutions, ensuring accuracy and reliability while enabling senior staff to focus on architecture and future state efforts.

You will run and maintain reports, execute data pulls, and support AI tooling, governance and cloud readiness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly applicable experience in data operations, reporting, analytics, or business technology support
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with structured datasets
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in Python, SQL

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain established reports, dashboards, queries, and extracts
• Execute recurring data pulls for leadership, audits, compliance, and firmwide initiatives
• Validate output accuracy and reconcile data discrepancies
• Operate and maintain repeatable scripts, jobs, and API-based processes built by senior staff
• Monitor performance, log results, and upscale issues, as needed
• Support data requests related to AI tools, governance initiatives, cloud readiness, and analytics
• Assist with documentation and reproducibility of data processes
• Provide operational support during high volume or time sensitive initiatives
• Ensure data handling complies with confidentiality, risk, and policy requirements
• Follow documented procedures and assist in improving operational resilience
• Maintain organized runbooks, trackers, and execution records
• Build familiarity with APIs, reporting platforms, data tools, and automation workflows
• Gain exposure to AI related data preparation and governance concepts
• Partner closely with senior technical staff to expand technical depth over time
• All other duties as assigned or required
