Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking a Data Operations Specialist to support repeatable data execution, reporting, and automation across the firm. You will operationalize analytics and collaborate with senior staff to enable speed, accuracy and self sufficiency while freeing advanced resources for architecture and AI enablement.

You will maintain reports, support AI tooling, ensure data confidentiality, and help document processes. This role requires 3+ years in data operations and strong Python/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly applicable experience in data operations, reporting, analytics, or business technology support.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with structured datasets.
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with APIs, scripting, or automation tools for dashboards and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain established reports, dashboards, queries, and extracts.
• Execute recurring data pulls for leadership, audits, compliance, and firmwide initiatives.
• Validate output accuracy and reconcile data discrepancies.
• Operate and maintain repeatable scripts, jobs, and API-based processes built by senior staff.
• Execute batch jobs (report runs, data refreshes, operational tasks).
• Monitor performance, log results, and elevate issues as needed.
• Support data requests related to AI tools, governance, cloud readiness, and analytics.
• Assist with documentation and reproducibility of data processes.
• Provide operational support during high volume or time sensitive initiatives.
