Job summary

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a Data Manager / Analyst to support our DHS customer in Washington, DC. The role focuses on managing, organizing, and analyzing program data to inform decisions and improve operations, with emphasis on data integrity and governance.

You will develop dashboards using Excel, Power BI or Tableau, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and assist in SOP development, audits, and ad hoc data requests while adhering to security and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, information systems or a closely related discipline.
• Significant information systems experience in lieu of degree. (2 years)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in data management and analytics.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and one or more data visualization tools.
• Ability to manage multiple datasets and perform detailed analysis.
• Familiarity with data governance and federal reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Positive adjudication from a CBP Background Investigation.
• Position requires some travel.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and maintain datasets to support program reporting and analytics.
• Analyze operational, financial, and performance data to support decision-making.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and streamline reporting processes.
• Ensure adherence to data quality, integrity, and security standards.
• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data management and reporting.
• Support audits, evaluations, and ad hoc data requests.
