Persistent Systems, LLC in New York City seeks a Data Analyst to transform complex data into actionable insights. You will build trusted datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and analyses to help leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, manage risk, and make evidence-based decisions.

The ideal candidate combines SQL, data preparation, visualization, statistics, and stakeholder communication with a keen eye for data quality and user experience.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of professional experience in data analytics, BI, reporting, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field
• Advanced proficiency in SQL with for example joins, CTEs, window functions
• Strong Power BI skills including Power Query, DAX, semantic modeling and report design; Tableau depth valued
• Advanced spreadsheet skills for reconciling and cleaning data
• Experience with dimensional data modeling, KPI design, ETL/ELT concepts
• Experience using Python with pandas for data manipulation
• Understanding of statistics, sampling, hypothesis testing, and analytics pitfalls
• Proven ability to gather requirements, manage multiple priorities, communicate findings, influence decisions
• Must have a United States Security Clearance or be able to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Own analytical work from requirements discovery through transformation, modeling, validation, visualization and delivery
• Partner with leaders across Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Product to define KPIs and reporting logic
• Develop reusable analytics assets and documentation for data lineage and metric definitions
• Apply statistical methods and communicate uncertainties, distinguishing correlation from causation
• Promote governed, self-service analytics and secure data usage across the organization
• Design, build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau where appropriate
• Write and optimize complex SQL across databases, cloud warehouses and Lakehouse platforms
• Data preparation using Power Query, Python/pandas, spreadsheets; design star-schema models
• Build ETL/ELT workflows with dbt, Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Factory, AWS Glue, Databricks; document lineage
• Analyze historical data for trends, drivers, anomalies, risks and opportunities; perform segmentation and forecasting
• Create validation rules, reconciliations, and quality checks; coordinate durable fixes with data owners and engineering
• Translate open-ended questions into measurable analytics plans and KPI definitions
• Reduce manual reporting with automated workflows and self-service datasets
• Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences with clear narratives
• Support embedded analytics using JavaScript visualization libraries and AI tooling
