Job summary

Persistent Systems, LLC seeks a Data Analyst for its New York City headquarters. You will transform diverse data into actionable insights, build trusted datasets, semantic models, and dashboards, and partner with executives across Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Product to define KPIs and reporting logic.

The role requires strong SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python/pandas, data quality focus, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience in data analytics, BI, reporting, or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience
• Advanced proficiency in SQL with joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance-aware analysis
• Strong Power BI experience (Power Query, DAX, semantic modeling) and Tableau depth
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience reconciling, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources
• Knowledge of dimensional data modeling, KPI design, data dictionaries, ETL/ELT concepts, and source-to-target mapping
• Experience with Python and pandas or R for data manipulation and analysis
• Understanding of descriptive statistics, sampling, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing
• Ability to gather requirements, manage priorities, communicate findings, and influence decisions with evidence
• Must have a United States Security Clearance or be able to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Own analytical work from requirements discovery through transformation, modeling, validation, visualization, delivery, and support
• Partner with leaders across Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Product to define KPIs and reporting logic
• Develop reliable analytics assets and documentation for metrics, transformations, and data lineage
• Apply statistical methods and communicate uncertainty; distinguish correlation from causation
• Promote secure, governed, self-service analytics across the organization
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries across databases and lakehouse platforms
• Clean, profile, map, join, and transform structured data using Power Query, Python/pandas, and spreadsheets
• Create ETL/ELT workflows using dbt, Azure Fabric/Data Factory, AWS Glue, Databricks; monitor failures
• Analyze historical data to identify trends, risks, opportunities; perform segmentation, forecasting, cohort, and experiment analyses
• Create validation rules, reconciliations, and quality checks; investigate discrepancies and implement fixes
• Translate questions into measurable definitions and data mappings; establish KPI definitions and a business glossary
• Reduce manual reporting with automated refreshes, workflows, and governed self-service datasets
• Present findings to both technical and nontechnical audiences with clear narratives
• Support embedded analytics using JavaScript libraries (Recharts, D3, Plotly) and shadcn/ui components
• Explore AI frameworks to accelerate discovery while validating outputs against trusted data
