Job summary

Speechify is hiring for a Data-focused Software Engineer to own data collection and ingestion pipelines for model training. You’ll extend our GCP-based infra, use Terraform, and collaborate with AI scientists to scale data at petabyte-scale.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software development, strong Bash/Python skills, and experience with large-scale data workflows. Remote, full-time with competitive pay and equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost, throughput and quality for data at scale.
• Help craft the AI Team’s dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s products.
