Job summary

Speechify is hiring for its Data side of our AI team. This role focuses on all aspects of data collection to support model training operations, enabling high-quality datasets at petabyte scale through tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research.

We’re seeking a skilled Software Engineer with 5+ years of software development experience and strong scripting in Linux, plus Docker and Terraform for cloud-based ingestion pipelines; collaboration with scientists is essential to

Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of industry experience in software development.
Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and at least one major Cloud Provider (we use GCP).
Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Find and ingest new sources of audio data for our ingestion pipeline.
Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline on GCP with Terraform.
Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality at scale.
Help craft dataset roadmap with AI Team and leadership to power Speechify’s products.
