Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Data-focused Software Engineer to build and scale data ingestion for AI model training. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure, engineering, and research to assemble high-quality datasets at petabyte scale.

The role requires 5+ years in software development, strong scripting in Bash/Python, Docker, Terraform, and GCP experience. You’ll collaborate with scientists and leadership to drive the dataset roadmap and enable next-generation products.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux.
• Proficiency with Docker and IaC concepts and experience with GCP.
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Find new audio data sources and ingest into the pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline (GCP, Terraform).
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve data cost/throughput/quality at scale.
• Contribute to dataset roadmap with AI Team and leadership.
