Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Data side of our AI team. You will own data collection and ingestion, building high-quality datasets at petabyte-scale, and collaborating with scientists to enhance cost, throughput, and quality for our next-generation models.

The role requires a CS degree (BS/MS/PhD), 5+ years in software development, and strong scripting with Bash/Python. Experience with Docker, Terraform, and GCP is essential.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (we use GCP).

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for ingestion pipeline (Terraform, GCP).
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost/throughput/quality for data.
• Help craft dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s products.
