Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Data Software Engineer to own data collection and ingestion for model training. You will build high-quality datasets at scale by integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research to power next-generation models.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software development, strong Linux scripting, and experience with Docker, Terraform, and GCP. You will collaborate with scientists to optimize data quality, costs, and throughput.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry software development experience.
• Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Experience with Docker and IaC concepts; cloud experience (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for ingestion pipeline on GCP with Terraform.
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve data quality, cost, and throughput.
• Help craft dataset roadmap with AI Team to power Speechify products.
