Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience and typically 9+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience implementing or operating data governance, data management, or data enablement programs in a complex organization
• Knowledge of data governance principles including data quality, metadata management, lineage, cataloging, and stewardship
• Experience leading people, teams, or cross-functional initiatives and influencing without authority
• Experience partnering with business and technology stakeholders to translate policies into operational processes
• Strong communication and change-management skills
• Experience identifying and coordinating remediation of data quality issues
• Ability to analyse complex issues, set priorities, and coordinate teams to deliver practical solutions

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of domain data analysts and data stewards for data governance and data quality controls
• Implement and maintain data enablement framework including policies, standards, and procedures
• Operationalize governance across data quality, metadata, lineage, cataloging, and data product controls
• Partner with data officers, owners, EA, IT security, legal, compliance, and tech teams to embed governance
• Align data analysts with business domains to develop subject-matter expertise
• Identify and remediate data quality issues with owners and tech teams
• Define and monitor data enablement metrics and KPIs
• Drive adoption by communicating value of governance services across the organization
• Promote compliance with data privacy requirements including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA
• Coach and support team members with clear goals and service-oriented leadership
