Job summary

Cincinnati State is seeking a Data Analyst to support institutional data governance and reporting. The role collaborates across departments with data stewards to uphold defined standards and maintain accurate, secure, and well-defined data.

Responsibilities include maintaining data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and the college’s reporting environment (Entrinsik Informer, Tableau, Power BI). Requires a related IT degree and several years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer/data science (or related IT field) with 4+ years experience.
• Or an associate’s degree with 6+ years experience.
• Or 8 years’ experience in data governance or related IT roles.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of data governance frameworks, standards, and procedures.
• Assist with data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata repositories.
• Document data definitions, ownership, usage rules, and retention with stewards.
• Monitor data quality across enterprise systems and recommend fixes.
• Collaborate with functional teams to identify root causes and actions.
• Support FERPA and other regulatory requirements related to data governance.
• Define data classification standards and access controls.
• Coordinate with information security on data risk assessments.
• Maintain and enhance the College’s reporting environment (Informer, etc.).
• Analyze trends to support institutional decision-making.
